My name is Geri Causarano and I have designed Travel bags for our beloved Miatas. After the trip to Dallas in 1999 for the 10th Anniversary Party for the Miata, I decided that using a small rollaround suitcase and piling items around it in the trunk was way to much work. Trying to fit items on the deck behind the seat was not much better. After all, isn’t the idea of this car to have fun? Fighting with the wrong size suitcases made me think there had to be a better way.
When we arrived home I started playing with some fabric and finally arrived on a design for a bag that fit behind the seats on the deck. The Deck Bag was launched. I made one for myself and others in the San Diego Miata Club wanted one. That is how my business started. That was in 1999.
In 2001 we decided we needed better fitting bags for the trunk. I then designed a 4 piece set of Travel Bags for the 1990-1997, a 4 piece set for the 1999-2005, and in 2005 another 5 piece set for the 2006 Miata trunks.
Then the boot was left out in the cold. They are better off stored in a bag instead of just put in the trunk or behind your seat. The boot needs to be protected, especially the lighter colors.
